Slow start up

    Slow start up


    My X Box 360 S has become very slow to start up . It took several minutes to boot . Any suggestions ?

    In the last month my xbox has started taking forever to start up. Anywhere from 1-3 minutes it will just have the white screen with the spinning loading animation. It doesn't matter if its a cold start or a restart. It is only a year old slim. I have next
    to nothing on the hard drive. only 30gigs out of 250 so I know there is not to much on the drive like other have suggested. clear the cache does not work either. This seems to be a hardware problem. any new suggestions or information out there?

    WarMachine has a good suggestion here. To start things off, let's try deleting and redownloading the profile. Here's some guides/steps on how to do that (if you need them):

    Slow start up

    Try clearing the console's storage by heading to Settings>System>Storage then press A to select each device that you have attached and press Y to clear the cache.

    If that doesn't work then remove all devices and start up your console. If it starts fine then add one device at a time and power cycle it. When the system takes a long time to load up you'll know which drive is causing the problem.

    It's just something you are going to have to deal with.

    The dashboard loads a lot slower because of all the content that needs to download, all those boxes need to be filled with something. You can test this by disconnecting your Xbox 360 from the Internet and then restarting your console, it will almost immediately
    load into the dashboard since it doesn't have to download anything to load up the dashboard.

    You may want to clear your xbox cache.

    You may also want to consider deleting things off of your xbox. Lack of memory may be causing the problem.

    Yes, this has been affecting many people.

    .

    Depending on what xbox you use, there is a possible fix.

    The how and why of how this works is strange, and it wont work on the 4 GB slim.

    Anyway....

    .

    Remove your hard drive, and turn on the console without it.

    When prompted for an update, as it shouldn't have the update now without the HD, decline it and let the console finish powering up in an offline state.

    Properly shut down your console.

    Return the HD to it's proper spot, and reboot the system. Give it it's full go firing up and connecting to live.

    This isn't a fully confirmed fix for everyone, but many have done it and have had it resolve the dashboard problem.

    Try to delete you profile and re-download it could be corrupt.
