Slow speed

By slow what do you mean? Walking Speed? Or just slow as in they don't reach the speed of 200mph?

I went to my brother's house to test the speeds on his internet connection and still got 1.7mb wired or wireless. However, I also got that exact same speed on HIS xbox, even while getting 15mb on his computer. I did some more googling using different search
terms than before, and I think I found the answer.



Accoring to
this post you simply cannot use the IE app for speed tests, because it goes through MS's servers which set restrictions on app bandwidth, etc. That makes sense to me. I brought the xbox home and tried to stream some HD media over Netflix which worked
fine. So I guess it was just the Comedy Central app that was running poorly.



As for my slow downloads, I timed a 58MB download and it took about 1min 55secs, which isn't terrible, but isn't great. Still, it's faster than the 1.7mb I was seeing on the speedtest results.



I'm going to assume this is standard behavior for the xbox and call this issue resolved.

SamxBroski, I have tried wired and wireless (see OP) and did all my testing between 5am-7am this morning when nobody else in the house was awake, so no other devices were being used. Plus, as stated in the OP, my other devices get great
speeds from the same speedtest sites where the xbox gets crappy speeds. If it was a usage on my network, my other devices would suffer too.

DutchResistance, I'm using a wired connection, but get the same speeds either way. I have only used the Comedy Central app for steaming and that's where I've seen the constant buffering. Even before that I noticed that my downloads were
a lot slower than they should be given my connection speed. I'd have to download something and time it to factor the speed I'm getting that way, but speed tests through the IE app are consistently 1.7mb or 1.8mb, wile my other devices are consistently getting
25mb to 50mb.
