slow speed test in xbox settings

wired connection. on my computer i get a speed of 950 mgs.

The Xbox will max out at 250. Anything above that won't be noticeable. It's always been like that. Not sure why. Also keep in mind that speeds can fluctuate depending how many other people in your household are using the same internet as you. People
confuse fast internet with strong all the time.

That's interesting because I get above 300mbs all the time. Speed tests are unreliable at best. Many things go into consideration when speed testing. Like the actual server you are pinging, distance to that server. Traffic on that server. Sometimes whether
it's a good server or not. Testing through the xbox itself you dont get to choose the server you ping. While you run a giga connection you should be running much faster than 6mbs. I would take JFate777 advice and find a closer public DNS server that will work
for your area. That can improve speed and performance for some people. An important thing to notice when your speed testing from your actual xbox is packet loss and your latency. Of coarse you want 0 packet loss and as low of latency as possible. If your latency
gets into triple digit numbers than there is an issue.

So what I would do since you have an increase to 1000mgs, is change your DNS settings on your Xbox. Read this

article, then try and find a DNS server that works for your region.
