Slow performance on dashboard even after clearing system cache

Hey, so recently I switched my 360 console to a new one, transferred my gamertag via the recover option, and since then the dashboard has been occasionally performing slow, even after turning it off and on again, not loading any profiles, it's still like
it. I looked this up and cleared the cache but it still hasn't improved? It's very slow connecting to xbox live and very slow loading the dashboard Any help would be much appreciated, thanks.

    :)

Clearing System Cache, does it help with performance problems?

I misread the thread as; Clearing System Cache, doesn't help with performance problems?

    ..

This has happened to me before though & Formatting the HDD, was the only option, to system performance etc...

Your supposed to backup & format every now & then anyway... That's why, you can re-download content again...

    ..

Clearing the system cache, only removes the game updates & fixes minor issues in games etc...

Seeing how it's a dashboard performance issue on HDD... I personally, would backup & format the HDD..

    Clearing system cache

I did this and lost my game save of red dead redemption had to start from the beginning again.

Is it supposed to delete your saved games?

What kind of xbox 360 console are you using? If that is the model with outer HDD I suggest you to make sure that the HDD is formatted and well connected to your console.

Clearing System Cache, does it help with performance problems?

I don't think a slow Dashboard has very much to do with the Storage Device. More of it's a combination of being an Xbox LIVE "thing" and/ or one's ISP. I've had both tremendously slow Dashboards and Dashboards that are very responsive
all within the same Version of that Dashboard.

Some have been worse, while others have been better but overall, it's not really a Users End issue that they can truly address.
What he said. I've had smooth dashboard operation as well as sort of a lagging or chugging of the dashboard. I'm not sure if it's the internet or my system but as far as I know, nothing is wrong with my 360 hardware. It might just be Xbox Live loading
    some things in the background.

Clearing System Cache, does it help with performance problems?
Clearing the Cache simply Deletes all Temporary Files (Game Updates and such). It can help every now and then but given most Games don't really "need" it. You will have to Download any Game Title Update again afterwards. A word of warning though, some Game
like ME3 store an Achievement Tracker on the Cache. If you Clear the Cache it can "reset" your Stats towards an Achievement in ME3 or Games that use a similar method.
..

So "clearing the cache" shouldn't be the first option then, if it deletes achievements & achievement tracker on new games like Mass Effect 3...

Backing up all data & formatting the HDD, sounds like a better option to me then..

    ..

I've had only one RROD [overheated] since 2007 & I am still using the original console & 20GB HDD today... Far exceeding the warranty period, for a genuine console & accessory...
