Slow OS and System Lag in Games

Am I alone on this or is this quad core machine terribly sluggish and slow? Today I was playing Madden with a buddy on my system not via live and my play call screen was delayed, hot routes were delayed and it didn't recognize we changed games for
2 minutes. It's like there wasn't a disk in. I expect more from "next gen"! Trim the fat and make this pile of crap play games better. That's why we bought it.

Terrible Game!!!

That doesn't stop the built in "Lag compensation system" that rewards people with slower internet connections.

Nightly upload speed crashes

My 360 runs better at night than my X1. Is it sad that their older system with a slower and out of date OS works better than their newest piece of tech?

Hey there Trinity Seeker!

Lets see if we can speed up your console. I am going to have you try a Hard Shutdown.

While on the Xbox Home Screen, press and hold the Consoles power button for 10 seconds or until it shuts off.

Unplug the power connector from the rear of the console for 30 seconds.

After the 30 seconds, plug your system back in and power it on.

Let me know if this helps with the system lag you are experiencing!

Try refreshing the home screen by pressing LT RT and Y at the same time. If that doesn't help please clear your persistent storage. To do this go to Settings, Disc&BluRay and then Persistent storage.

I am on the standard public OS build and don’t experience any slow down, lag or issues with games.

I have noticed some users have reported via the forums of lag and slow down issues. In those instances they are advised to power cycle or perform a reset to factory defaults. If those don’t resolve the issue, I suggest looking at using the Device
service and replacement team to book a repair/service as there could be a hardware fault. If you are outside of your warranty period, you will have to pay for this service.

Lag is a connection issue, the game slowing you down to even the playing field for all in game is not lag, its a Nerf.

Sorry to hear about the lagging issues. Just to make sure that we have not missed any troubleshooting steps, I recommend trying a few to see if we can get this issue sorted.

Please give the following steps a try:

Clear your Xbox 360 system cache 3 times.
Power off your console.
Power on your console and try to load a game to see if you are experiencing a lag or slow performance.

Give the suggested steps a try and let us know if you are still experiencing slow performance/lagging issues.
