Slow network bug (Xbox One S Instant On)

If I use the Instant On setting with my new Xbox One S I have speed issues with the network. I can start up an download at full speed, around 80-100mbs no problem. Put the One S into sleep mode - come out of it later in the day and any downloads I do will
be 10mbs or slower. Rebooting the One S fixes the issue. I'm assuming its a software issue on the OS side.

    :)

    Xbox One S D/L speed is 16Mb

Its a current bug with the Xbox One S - Do a restart of the console and you'll get the speed back. It's an issue with the Instant On setting

  3. Xbox turn on via app non functioning.

Just a small problem but irritating, my xbox one s won't turn on when i press the "turn on" button in the xbox app. It is on the same network, and is on instant on.

I have the exact same problem. On wifi .... When it's working I get 50 mb or more download and 20 up. If I use instant on eventually it gets to a point where it goes to 1.5 down and 20 up...so the download takes a massive hit. Do a full power down and up
and it's fine. If I leave instant on disabled it's fine. What I assume is happening is the wireless client gets confused afterward up and uses a low data rate for download. Seen thus behavior I other wireless clients where it was driver issues.

I do wireless for a living and have tested this on cisco wireless and Netgear wireless same behavior. It's not your router and please don't post here try o say reset modem etc because that's not the problem. If the Xbox does a full power up its fine 100%
if the time. It's a sleep problem with the wifi drivers. I need to call support and have them fike a bug or something

same behaviour as the OP, by using wireless connectivity on an Xbox One S, or the original Xbox One?

If it help mine is an apple time machine. It isn't that though and I've tried it on another router too. Certainly an issue with the One S. Lots of others posting it in other forums.

R8500 Netgear ,cisco 2700,2600,3600 .... multiple different hardware. Have not had a chance to do a wireless sniffer trace but I get enough of that at work honestly Slow network bug (Xbox One S Instant On) :)

I have the same problem (makes not difference what router I have a few)

This shows its ugly head because I use the streaming side of my xbox a lot (plex, you tube etc)

Making it unusable until hard boot

I am assuming its a Wi-Fi boards software resume from sleep problem but usually I am wrong and it ends up bad hardware

I have reported it to insiders preview but I don't know if it will be treated as important

:¬( main reason I bought xbox one s was to replace my old box that had really bad flaky Wi-Fi too :¬(

Go Omnipeek! So much fun. Slow network bug (Xbox One S Instant On) :)

Do you see this behaviour on an Xbox One S, or the original Xbox One?

Could you also post up which OS-version you have running on your console.

I don't have the xbox up and running, but its the latest production code that was release a few days ago. I am not on the preview builds etc. if I can recreate it I will trace and get a trace with MBP , since I am curious to see the wireless headers are
like (as in what data rate its using when it runs into the issue). but please don't wait on me Slow network bug (Xbox One S Instant On) :)

as my wife and kids go nuts when I start trying to break the main box in the house they use all the time, but I will see what I can do.

and to Madusmacus, its prob about 90% its not hardware... doing wireless for a living and I have seen this before with other Nic cards and drivers. it normally turns out to be driver related.

  14. Problem started yesterday when I replaced my XB1 with a new 2tb S model. My download speeds are 2-3mbps despite normally being 200-300mbps. Wired, hardwired, instant on, and power save, nothing increases speeds. Xbox network analysis shows I'm pulling down
288mbps and my actual download speed is still crap. I know it's now the console, I already did an exchange, same problem. My ISP is worthless and MS support not much better.

I'm in the same boat. I believe ever since the latest update I'm encountering the same thing. I have an original xbox one (not S) and when I run network stats I show 60MB down 7MB up 58ms latency 0% packet loss. When I try to download something I get
between 800kbps and 5Mbps for a download speed. Sometimes it even goes to 0 and sits there. I was also getting kicked out of rocket league while playing. I have a PS4, xbox 360 and PS3 all hooked up to the same port on my router with a switch and none of
them have any issues at all. I get around 50Mbps down on those and always did on the xbox one prior to noticing a few days ago. I've tried direct cable to my modem as well as router and switched to wireless and I still get the slow speeds. Every once in
a while I'm able to get it to work correctly getting around 50Mbps down by doing various resets on the equipment but if I reboot the xbox one it goes right back down to the super slow. I ordered a new xbox one thinking it's the console, that doesn't come
in until tomorrow, but now after reading these posts I'm wondering if it's not the console. This is absolutely ridiculous and needs to be fixed if it's software. Can we get someone from Microsoft to comment on this? We’re troubleshooting their issue not
to mention spending extra money on trying to resolve this issue.
