Slow log-on, slow game load and high use of bandwidth

Just bought an xbox one. Lots of great stuff but some issues.

1 I have Hughes net and have 100gb day and another 100 gbs night. The other night when no one was on, the xbox used up 69 of the remaining 74 night time gbs. leaving me with a mere 5 gbs. I have no idea what the machine was doing all night to use this much
bandwidth. And I did check the usage on it and confirmed that it was the Xbox and not the PC.

I checked other forums before posting and didn't find an answer. Some seem to have this problem (but never that high) and some don't.

2 Sign on time is insane. Sometimes we can't even sign on. Is it possible to play any game on this console without having to be on line? Is there some default setting that needs to be checked or unchecked?

3 Game loading times. I read that one guy complaining about 40 secs to load his game. I wish. It takes 40 minutes sometimes to get a game going. This is just stupid. By the time we get the game to actually working, I'm ready to say "F* it".

Our games so far are Minecraft, Starwars Battlefront and Witcher III. Storage is currently at 16%. How does anyone ever have 40 games installed without an external harddrive... or three or four of them?

There's a difference between bandwidth allocated for downloading content and bandwidth for game interaction. Because one is slow does not mean the other is
impacted. While my download was slower than normal, Live itself never disconnected.

 

New update breaks... everything

My Xbox is doing the same thing. It is slow to load the home screen, slow to load apps, slow to load games. Even when I turn it on now it is super slow to come on. This new update looks great, but something has got to be fixed. My xbox has never been this
slow to respond.

 

Just a few clarification questions for you, see if maybe I can help..

1. From reading a few other threads, it looks like the console continuously checks your friend feed and games for updates, which consumes a lot of data. Have you tried setting it to Energy-Saver mode? That way when you turn it off, it's actually off, and
not trying to update or stay in "ready" mode.

2. what is your down/up speed? How many devices are being used at the same time? Most of the time if I have trouble logging on, it's either because my ISP is having issues, XBL is having issues, or I just need to reset my router/modem. It could be a cache
issue though, but I don't think so.

3. Have you tried uninstalling, then reinstalling said games? I would try clearing the cache first though, as that is quickest and easiest. 40 min load times, yikes.. I haven't heard of anything that drastic, but I'll keep an ear out for other solutions.

Hopefully any of these suggestions will help a bit, but I hope to hear back so maybe we can get this cleared up for ya
