slow loading usb drive

I'm trying to set up a usb flash drive to play music on xbox 360, the problem is it loads the song list for like 5 minutes, I tried removing tags from the files as suggested in one other thread, my stick is a SanDisk Ultra 32GB usb3.0 so it's not too
slow, I tried my old 8GB SanDisk Cruzer usb2.0, same result.

Any ideas?

Xbox One Latency issue

Your latency isn't a problem. The speed test servers are based in Seattle, Washington so your latency depends on where you are in the world. Mine is 151ms and i'm in the UK.

You don't say what your actual speed is though.

As for USB hard drives being slower. I haven't noticed any problems and mines also USB 3.0 5400RPM

Mine actually seems faster at loading that the internal does. I believe the internal drive is also 5400RPM as well.

Maybe you just have a slow drive?

 

Installing GTAV play disk (2) to USB

Installing your game to an external drive isn't recommended anyhow--you'll get some pretty bad loading times, and texture/item pop in. USB 2.0 is a bad bottleneck in terms of read speed, and your DVD drive can outperform whatever any USB drive can give
you.

However, if you still want to, you can remove your internal drive, boot up the game, and select your external to install to. I'll just remind you that flash drives should _not_ be used under any circumstances. They're cheap, they're slow (er than even external
USB 2.0 drives), and they're not going to last you very long, especially with a game as demanding as GTA.

 

Hey there, I can only suggest looking through the support article as it does seem like you're using the suggest drives, so I don't believe the USB's would be an issue:

I have found others describing the same issue here and some suggestions are going to the storage device and pressing Y to perform system maintenance and see if that speeds it up:

I tried everything I could think of... in the end I just ripped a portion of my music collection from burned cd's to the xbox hardrive, took a while but at least now the loading is instant
