Slow internet equals sadness -_-

As I've been trying to download the free WWE game for the last 23 hours it's become apparent that slow internet sucks. -_- My girlfriend has lowered her speeds from 15 to 3! How could she do me so wrong? And for a savings of $10? And when 45 is available?
Maybe she "isn't the one"? Lol. My only consolation is they are running Fiber lines in my area (Already have the main lines sticking up out of the ground in front of my house.), and super high speed should be ready by the end of the 3rd quarter; possibly early/mid
fourth.

Last week one of my friends sold his X Box because of his internet speeds. 1.5 is the highest he can get. Though in reality, because of congestion, he didn't get half of that. Another friend found out satellite was useless for online gaming and took the shiny
new X Box back after 4 days.

On the box the X Box came in, it mentions 1.5 is the minimum recommended speed. Before the launch I remember hearing that a cell phone could be used for updates. Really? I'm not buying that.

What speeds do you pay for AND receive? If you have the bare minimum 1.5, do you get any enjoyment out of the system? Just how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if chucking wood?

Why MW3 seems less attractive...

Nobody is complaining about the game but we can´t have fun when others have a slow connection man.....servers shoul rate the internet connections and put only those with equal connection speeds together IMO

 

Why don't they take the lag compensator out of the game?

All i care about is that they work on this Lag Comp we can all play on equal ground...well somewhat of an equal ground. I just find it annoying that a person with a crappy internet connection can get more kills then me because i have a better internet connection.
A friend said basically Lag comp gives people with a crappy or slow internet connection an advantage over people who have a better internet connection thus giving the people with a better internet connection a handicap, which is bull. I do hope they work this
Lag Comp out and the spawn...then this game will be great online..

 

I've said it before mate if I had slow speeds I don't think I'd bother with today's consoles. Some updates alone would be a nightmare, I'm lucky though. I'm with BT here in UK. For the broadband alone ( not including unlimited calls from phone ) I pay £30
a month for that I get

Unlimited use

120mb download ( can drop to 117mb )

20mb upload ( can drop to 18mb )

Best money I spend. Me on my consoles, same with wife and daughter. It does us brilliantly

I have a friend that lives about 8 miles from me. At mo he only gets about 2-2.5mb download but he brings his console to my house for updates etc as he has waited DAYS for one game to download/update. I wouldn't have patience lol

 

Unlimited 150mb fibre optic. If I remember rightly before launch when the online requirement was on the cards it was said a phone could be used for the daily check in as the file was a few KBs. I cant remember it ever being advised for updates.

 

Unlimited 70mb fibre optic.

Could get 150mb if I wanted but 70mb does me just fine.

 

I can only get a max speed of 4MB -5MB and it takes a day or 2 to download a game and while it's downloading doing anything else on the internet is impossible.

 

The internet I have my house is alright except for the low cap; 45 down. The new company that is putting Fiber in has unlimited...I'm getting giddy as a school girl. Lol.

Called my girlfriend at lunch and she is going to call AT&T to put her internet back up. It would appear it was only a $5.00 savings instead of $10, and she was having problems with her computer lagging this morning; might of had something do with downloading
WWE. ;-)

It was during the reveal and Don Mattrick was saying a cell phone could be used to check-in and update. He may have been alluding to the day one update, but I'm sure some believed cellular could be used for all updates. Had a lady in Ambassador Chat trying
to download Forza 5 and Dead Rising 3 on a 2G connection; needless to say, that wasn't going over well.

I have Fibre at home and can still only average about 26 down, if I opt for standard broadband then I only get about 3 down.

The really sad thing is that I'm currently away, camping in a field nearly 10 miles from the nearest town but am still getting 4g on my phone and showing 65 down on a speed test lol.

 

The day just keeps getting better. Girlfriend was on hold with AT&T and couldn't raise the speed on her lunch hour. Went for a 2 mile bike ride, then figured I'd play some Fallout 4...nope. 2.3Gb update. The console is in instant on and just played it last
night, so the update must have just came out. So far I've went for a bike ride, installed a new motion light in her backyard, and mowed the lawn; maybe I'll change the transmission fluid and filter in my truck. Nothing like being productive on your day off.

@marknally, checked my phone and am getting 13 pretty consistently. If it wasn't for the 5Gb cap I'd turn the hot-spot on. Lol.

Yeah I find it mind boggling in this day and age that a wireless signal can perform better than hard wired - it kinda puts the isp's to shame.

With sky, getting 40Mbps down and 10Mbps up, all for a tenner a month, was with BT and geting 76Mbps sdown but there service was rubbish.

I'm with Vodafone NZ. Get 100mb/s download and 10mb/s upload speed and unlimited monthly data. Home network. Very useful for sharing HD videos on YouTube. Mobile internet is too expensive. My phone is on pre-paid, and NZ ISP's charge $20 for 1GB internet
data, which lasts me a whole month and allows me to check my social media stuff and some web surfing, but not suitable for streaming videos off YouTube/Netflix. I read that Vodafone is the 2nd biggest ISP in the world. They also service Australia and NZ too.
It's not just a UK/American provider. And get Freeview TV with them. There was a newspaper article earlier this year in NZ which mentioned that it was reckless for ISP's in NZ to offer unlimited data usage, especially since Netflix was released in Australia
and NZ at exactly the same time last year and it has been highly popular and the NZ network can get very busy except for like between 10pm and 6am.
