Slow Internet connectivity and unstable ping

Hi there,

make sure your console is connected via ethernet as wireless can be unstable. Also check xbox xupport on twitter if the game you are experiencing is down - which may slow downloads. Other than that - it may be up to your internet provider to trouble shoot.

Could be the following:

1) NAT setting is set to Intermediate or Strict

2) Connection to Online is slow

3) PING is high (this is more of a PC gaming issue but I think it still applies)

4) Other players have low ping or slow internet, affecting everyone else

Look for the Xbox 360 Support forum. Here, you are just going to get answers from other players really.

Double-check to make sure it is not your connection because it sounds like symptoms of slow Internet connection. Try doing a "speedtest" to see your ping. Higher ping equals worse connection.

It could also just be R*'s *** servers. They really are bad sometimes.

Low ping = good.

The 'bar' is not ping, it's the general quality of your internet connection, and a latency timer. The higher the latency, the higher the ping, the worse the connection is, the lower the bar will go. I'd do a speed test on an internet browser to see if it's
your internet connection or not.
