Hi there,

I have an Xbox One 1TB Elite console. Lately it is taking forever to install a game, and whilst installing it makes a sound similar to a printer working. Obviously the disc drive is working hard, but the console used to install games in half the time.

Right now I am installing Xcom 2, it has a 400mb patch, which I'm sure is downloaded, but the game is 34% installed after an hour.

Should I unplug the console for a while?

Know you probably busy but I have heard that people are getting free games for their trouble how do I go about getting compensation for my inconvenience

Can you elaborate on what you're seeing/hearing? Does the console operate normally aside from the noise it makes? Are you seeing any error codes or error messages? It's possible that the console may need a repair, but let's get some more information before

Hi there! If you are having issues with downloading any game from a disc, try the solutions on this link:

support.xbox.com/.../game-installation-process-stops

If loud sound happens to all your disc, your disc drive might be faulty and may need to send it for repair. To process, go to devicesupport.microsoft.com

Also, try cleaning your disc and try wired network.

I am on a wired network and my discs are clean.

It installs eventually but the disc drive sounds like a printer and is working hard.

Do you think the console is faulty? It's not that old.

Hi Fembot. For the games not installing you could try to unplug the Xbox for a couple minutes, plug it back in and then see if it starts installing correctly. That said if the Xbox is making a noise like that it's very likely a hardware issue (especially
with multiple discs). That said without actually hearing the noise it's hard to say if it's the hard drive, optical drive, fan, ect. I'm guessing that it's the Blu-ray drive based on your description.

Maybe post a link to a video or something with the noise? You could also check your warranty at
https://devicesupport.xbox.com. If you do find that it's for sure a noise that is beyond what a fan would be and it doesn't clear up with air you may want to consider sending it in for repair.

On my xbox one s, it makes a low beeping sound, it never did this before. My tv screen remain blank and tells me theres no signal. Ive tried a new hdmi cord and its plugged in the rights spots. Can i get some help plz

Ok, getting annoyed now. Called the store I bought the console from and they replaced it, now the console is fine and the controller is annoying as heck, every time the is a vibration in the game it makes a weird beeping noise, every time I press A it does
this also, it also has a problem with right on the d-pad by making a loudish spring noise every time I press it. And the first controller I had also had a problem right on the d-pad as it was a much clunkier push compared to the other 3.
