    Why have I been experiencing extremely slow downloads/updates on my xbox one for the last couple weeks.

    Ive been scouring the internet for answers on how to fix this problem for weeks now but have only been able to find the same old recycled answers that every “expert” gives you.

    Ive tried absolutely everything that I could think of including power cycling console and router, trying wired and wireless connections, trying phone hotspots, experimenting with other consoles/devices that are on the same network ive tried different dns’
    ive even reset my mac address and factory reset my xbox etc...

    The only thing that i can think of is that its a software problem or something server side that is screwing with my downloads/updates.

    I should mention that everything else on my xbox works just fine, like multiplayer games (cod for instance) Even streaming stuff on Netflix and Stan work well.

    Please, anyone with something completely new to try add your ideas along with the rest of us here.

    It does matter how fast your internet connection is.

    Title updates for the xbox one are massive compared to what they are for the xbox 360.

    .

    Part of the installation time is the time it takes to download the updates. If you have a slow connection or if you are on a congested wifi channel your installation will take ages.

    It is now quite common for game updates to be hundreds of megabytes in size. On a slow connection this will cause downloads to take hours. Average update for 360 is less than 6MB. On xbox one they often over 600MB. I think BF4 was over 900MB when I last
    updated it.

    That's why I asked for your download speed. If your download speed is slow then that will be the reason. If your download speed is fast then there will be some other problem.
