Slow download speeds on Xbox in South Africa

Hi,

I have a 100/100mb fiber line and make use of wifi (5Ghz) to connect my Xbox Series X to the Internet.

My download speed for games and updates fluctuates between 10Mbps to 80Mbps with an average speed of around 30-50Mbps.
But never runs at a consistent speed even when no one is using the network. I ran a speed test on the Xbox itself and it recorded 75Mbps down and 50Mbps upload speed with a latency of 170ms on average. I have a buddy who is experiencing roughly the same speeds however he is using a LAN cable and has a 1000Mbps fiber line. I have ran speed tests on various other devices and they are able to reach full speed...

It seems we are connecting to international servers which would explain the lower speeds and high latency due to the fact that local speeds do not necessarily equal international speeds. It would also explain the lengthy connection times to Xbox lives services at times and slow upload speeds to the Xbox live servers when uploading a game clip for instance.

To me is just unacceptable and quite frankly, ridiculous since we are paying R100 to R150 p/m for poor performance and services.

On PC, you do not even pay to play online multiplayer games etc, yet the services on there are far better than on Xbox, which begs the question: What are you paying for really?

My question is why is this the case? Does Xbox not have proper local severs here in SA? If not, is there something in the works to resolve this? It's really frustrating and makes zero sense as to why we should be expected to pay for poor services..
