    Slow Connection on Xbox One S


    Hi All

    I have read about many people having the same problem with their xbox's internet but still no solution to fixing it.

    I have my xbox wired to the router, and have done the speed test under network settings.

    According to the xbox i am getting 16mbps.

    I have used edge to run the speedtest.net connection and it is giving me a speed of around 500mbps.

    Is there any reason that the xbox settings would be limiting the speed?

    It's on xbox one s console. No problems hearing friends on mic and such. But when we go online on multiplayer, it kicks me and says connection is to slow.

    Hi Rankish,

    Thanks for responding to us. We are more than happy to help and appreciate your efforts. I would recommend contacting your internet provider in order to resolve this. You can try to have them send a hit to the router and check to see if it improves the speeds.
    I would also recommend trying a direct connection if you haven't already. Once you connect it, run the speed test at speedtest.net and check if it still shows low speeds.

    When was the last time you did a hard reset of the router? Have you checked with your ISP to make sure there is no weird blocking/throttling going on?
