Slipspace engine

It can be daunting in the realms of SDK and programming. I tell you, with little experience, pushing the mark of my software acumen is very easy. In all regards (and, in best regards) the new slipspace engine is undoubtedly an interest for yours truly--being
a Halo series nutcase. Without further delay, what do you think are the areas where slipspace improves (esp. in Halo dev) and how does its tech compare with contemporary/past engines (or, quite possibly--if you have the know how--with engines in current dev)?

didact could be alive...maybe

new mombasa was destroyed by the use of a slipspace engine inside city limits. during the cutscene that shows noble 6 falling from the capial ship... besides, jorge had to detonate that engine MANUALLY. he even says so in the cutscene. there was NO time
to get away from that ship...but you're probably right. there may have been a window of about 6 seconds for him to jump out as well before the slipspace portal opens.

jorge died because he was ripped apart by the exploding engine and/or formation of the slipspace portal, or by the ship coming apart around him. the didact didn't fall into the composer, he fell into the portal linking the composer to requiem. i think the
only problem would be what kind of portal it was he fell through...it could be a slipspace that requires shields powerful enough to keep the object intact, or it could be like the the portal network found on requiem that is safe for people...

Actually the folks over at Digital Foundry recently made especially about the new trailer/engine and shared some interesting insights:

i forgot. slipspace travel happens in real time then? that makes sense to have cryo sleep

If you read the novels, they don't explain it in depth, but there is quite a lot of slipspace jumping where most of a ship's crew goes into cryo (including MC if he's aboard). As far as the games go, he hasn't been in it much at all.

But I think you've got something wrong. Cryo has the same effect in slipspace as it does outside of it. Slipspace is only the "dimension" (if you can call it that) entered when traveling faster than light. It simply lessens the travel time from one destination
to another. If you're in cryo during a slipspace jump, you're still frozen in real time, just for a shorter amount of time than if you were in normal space. Just like any other function of your body works the same in slipspace as in normal space.
