Sling TV app crashing constantly

Anyone else who uses this app have the same problem? It wasn't doing it a few days ago, but it seems like the Sling TV app has gone haywire. It crashed on me this evening no less than 8x during the course of 1 film. I would leave the app on commercials and
browse the Internet via the IE app and when I tried to go back it would just show a black screen where I couldn't do anything (like bringing up the channel menu), which forced me to quit it and restart. Every once in a while, it crashed on its own (at least
3x out of the 8) and kicked me back out to the dashboard or to the same black screen mentioned before.

Sling TV & Redzone

Sling TV repeatedly lags, freezes, or just simply shuts itself down and closes throughout the day. Today watching Redzone it is constantly buffering or just freezing. Are there any future performance improvements planned?

This is not a user internet connection / router issue and I must conclude it is related to the XBOX One app. Confirmed by watching Sling TV on a Mac using the same wireless connection as the XBOX One which results in zero buffering / freezing events.

Yep. I'm having the same problem. Sling TV is working fine on my Roku which is hooked up via wifi. But it's crashing and freezing on the xb1, which is hooked up via Ethernet cable. It's not my connection and it's not Sling TV. It's either the app or the
xb1 that's the problem. I tried reinstalling the app and no difference. Netflix and other streaming services work fine.

Same here. This app is seriously broken. My experience with their support has basically consisted of "try reinstalling the app" or "your system is broken". I'd gladly continue with a paid subscription if it would work.

 

Having same issues as everyone here. Sometimes programs would all of a sudden restart to the very beginning of a program (Ex: Dallas vs. Houston game Sunday) after I've been watching over an hour of the program. There is no option to fast forward!! They
really should have waited another month or two to iron out glitches before dropping this app. I hate cable/comcast and was hoping I could stiff them with sling..Right now it's looking like that won't be the case.

 

Ive been tweeting about this posting in the preview forums its getting old for two paid services. This needs to get fixed sling work great on my fire tv stick

Sorry to hear about the issues with the Sling TV app! If you haven't already, I recommend trying a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can get this issue sorted:

• First, navigate to My games & apps from the Home screen.
• From the apps tab, select the Sling TV app.
• Press the menu button on your Xbox One controller.
• Select Manage app and press the menu button.
• Select Uninstall.
• Once the Sling TV app has uninstalled, press and hold the power button on your Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
  
• Unplug the power cord to your Xbox One console and unplug the power cord to your router, modem or gateway.
  
• Wait 5 minutes and the plug in your console, router, modem or gateway.
• Power on your console and navigate to My games & apps from the Home screen.
• Scroll to the right and select the Sling TV app under the Ready to install section.
  
• Select Install and once the app has installed, check to see if you are running into the same issue.

This app is still a mess it freezes or programs buffer or just start over which is super awesome in the final seconds of a sports event! it works perfect on my amazon fire tv and thats wireless! Every other app and games work fine on my xbox one wired gigabit
on 105mbps internet. I've posted about this in the xbox preview program submitted report of the crashes. This needs attention since we pay for this on top of our live subs.

I've been having the same problem. I'll get a loading screen every 10 seconds. I can't even enjoy watching a live game on ESPN or regular aired programs. And also after it gets stuck loading it shuts down my xbox one and TV at the same time. I think it might
be your IP , I'm switching to time warner cable cause att Internet sucks!!

 

Watching SEC Network on XB1 and SlingTV. Constants "circle of buffering." So, I brought down my ROKU, removed the CAT5 and HDMI from XB1, plugged it into ROKU and Sling TV has been solid. I think Sling on XB1 is just broken.
