    Slight Lag When I Watch DVD's & Blu-rays

When I watch a DVD or a Blu-ray, the discs have a slight lag where my movies pause themselves for a second nearly every half-hour. I tried using my PS3 to watch my movies and the same is happening. What is causing this? This never used to happen. It's
strange why it happens with DVD's as well as Blu-ray in both my gaming consoles. Thanks.

    :)

Xbox One: Blu-ray and DVD movies

I would check out the Xbox page for Blu-ray playback regarding regions. But yes, your Xbox One can certainly play DVD and Blu-ray movies.

    Slight Lag When I Watch DVD's & Blu-rays

    Hi OrcaAmity,

If you're having the same issue with a lag of some kind in both consoles then the issue would be the disc, cable, or television. As you've tried multiple discs, I would try a different cable. If a different cable doesn't resolve the issue, then I would
try another TV. If you're going through a receiver bypass that, and go directly into the television for troubleshooting purposes. One of those will likely outline the culprit.

    Lip sync issues with DVD

I would try watching a DTS encoded movie on DVD and then compare to one that is Dolby Digital. Might just be DD not being supported yet issue. I will try also, as I did notice watching DVD the other day there was a slight delay. But none at all for Blu-Rays

    Bluray movie on xbox one

The dongle? If you are referring to the HD DVD add-on, that is different. When the Xbox 360 launched HD DVD and Blu-Ray were competing for the future of disk based media and Blu-Ray won. To watch HD-DVD movies on the Xbox 360 you had to purchase a separate
device but regular DVD's can be watched without any hook-ups.

Xbox One imported from other region

Each Xbox One console is manufactured for a specific Blu-ray and DVD region, following international standards. The Xbox One console can play Blu-ray discs and DVDs that are sold in the same region as the console.

Some Blu-ray discs and DVDs are not region-encoded or are coded to all regions. Region-free Blu-ray discs and DVDs will play on any Xbox One console.

Can't watch a DVD without an internet connection?

    Hey there Yeti!

An internet connection is not required while watching a DVD. Can you describe what error you're seeing?

If this is the first DVD that you've tried to watch, then it's possible that you haven't downloaded the Blu-Ray Player app, which is required to watch Blu-Rays/DVDs. When you first put a Blu-Ray/DVD in the console, it will automatically prompt you to
download the app. If you didn't already have it installed and you weren't connected to Xbox Live, then it would give you an error.

Let us know what you're seeing and whether or not you're able to watch a DVD while offline after downloading the Blu-Ray Player app. We'll be standing by to hear back from you! ^_^
