  1. Slight echo in Xbox one headset

    Hi guys,

Ive had a good search and read through a few threads on this subject but most seem to refer to the game echo (gunfire feedback etc).

Basically, when in party chat, does everyone else seem to get a slight echo/feedback in their ear piece of the tail end of what they have just said? It only does it on conversations between friends and it's not really noticeable enough to ruin the experience,
I just don't know whether this is typical or whether I'm on my own and need to swap my headset. Its always done this on my 360, and on my Xbox one.

Thanks. Slight echo in Xbox one headset :)

    :)

  2. Xbox One Stereo headset echos

Whenever I use my Xbox One stereo headset in a party the people in the party hear an echo. How do I fix my headset so they don't hear an echo?

Slight echo in Xbox one headset

Happens to me from time to time. I usually give my Connections a wipe with an alcohol wipe and plug back in. Fixes it on the occasions it does it. Internet connection could do it as well. Leave party and reconnect also to try and fix.

  5. Thanks for the response. I've experimented a bit today and on my own it's fine, with a friend it mostly does it when their mic is active, say when they are talking at the same time. It would be interesting to know if this is a common problem because all
of my friends have never seemed to have this problem.

Echo in party and game chat

I also have issues with a friend and echo. This really seems related to the headset they use.

That friend's cat chewed through their headset cable, and he had to use a different one, and I always heard myself VERY CLEARLY with a slight delay. This made it
    https://youtu.be/hnaOpWCJwXU?t=168.

After he replaced his headphones with the standard Xbox mono-chat headset, the echo was gone.

If your friend just switches from one kind of headsets (e.g. he has multiple phone headsets like the cable Apple Earbuds), they might all give you an Echo, but if he switches to a completely different type of headset, like the original Xbox chat headset,
    the Echo should go away.

If he wants to have a headphone that also supports game sound, he might have to do some trial and error to find a headset that works without Echo. Or get a certified Xbox One compatible headset. For example, personally I use a Plantronics RIG400HX, which
is a reasonably priced headset, with excellent quality.

I hear an echo in audio chat

If you hear an echo or noise during gameplay

Note If you hear an echo effect, it often originates from the person who is talking and not necessarily from the person who hears the echo. For example, if you hear an echo only when someone else talks, the problem may be with the headset connection
of the person who is talking.

The following conditions may cause an echo or noise during gameplay:

    • The microphone detects ambient noises. This includes voice transmission that comes from the earpiece.
    • The headset plug is not fully inserted into the controller.
    • You’re using the Xbox One Wireless Controller, and the battery levels in the unit are low.
If you or other players hear an echo or other noise during gameplay, try the following:

    • Turn the volume down on your TV or stereo.
    • Disconnect the headset, and then reconnect it firmly to the controller's expansion port.

Note Never pull on the headset cable when removing it from your controller. Remove your headset from your controller by pulling on the body of the headset plug.
    • Clean the plug on the headset cable with a clean cloth, and then reconnect the headset to the controller.
    • Test the headset by connecting it to a different controller.
    • If you're using an Xbox One Wireless Controller, replace the AA batteries or recharge the Xbox One rechargeable battery.
