    Slight clicking noise


    Hi all,

    Having just exchanged an Xbox One that had a faulty HDMI slot I have set up my brand new machine and can hear a slight ticking/clicking noise, the best way I can describe the sound is that it's like a cricket/grasshopper you may hear in your garden sometimes,
    it seems to be coming from the right hand, front side of the machine (near the power on button).

    I'm guessing this noise isnt normal as my last console didnt make this noise and if it isnt normal is it cause for concern?

    I can't hear anything coming from my Xbox One, but then again that's why I wear hearing aids. =P

    I think everyone's does that. At least I know mine does and I've heard others on here mention it also so I would say it's normal, even though I'm not sure what is making the noise.

    Hey there N3BUL0US!

    Sorry to hear about the console noise! Let's start with a power cycle. to do so follow the steps below:

    • Press and hold the power button on the Xbox One console for 10 seconds.
    • Once the console is powered off, unplug the power cable from the unit and let it sit for 5 minutes.
    • Plug in and power on your console and verify if the sounds persist.
    If that doesn't end up working, I recommend
    restoring your Xbox One to factory settings    . If both of those don't solve the noise issue, you may need to send your console in for repair again. Slight clicking noise :( Try that and let us know how it goes!

    Thanks for the reply mister beep but unfortunately I decided to get a refund this time, I may consider buying another one once the common issues have been dealt with.

    When the console is powered down it is normal for there to be a very slight noise to come from the console unless this noise is excessive then there is nothing to worry about.
