Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand your character on a game is gone. Unfortunately, if they are gone, there is no way of recovering the character. Most common reason character doesn't save or disappears is due to being corrupt.

Thank you for contacting the Xbox support forums. I understand that you have lost your character data after reinstalling Windows. With the initial launch of Minecraft Dungeons, there was an issue that would wipe save data for a character in the game. It may not be possible to recover your exact character, however there is a fix to help prevent you from starting at the very beginning of the game.

In order to be able to play Minecraft dungeons on pc, you will need to purchase the windows 10 version of the game.
Buy Minecraft Dungeons - Windows 10 - Microsoft Store

oh ok well that is kind of dumb and it should work with the same microsoft account but wait what about the cloud save of a character.
