Sleepy Hard Drives

I have two xbox ones and one has a 3 TB desktop drive, while the other has two 1tb laptop drives.... My question is, how do I prevent them from going to "sleep". There are times when I "quick resume" my Xbox One's and then I have to wait for the games to
show up on my system. When it does this I notice the lights on my externals are off. Unplugging and plugging the drives back in doesnt work for me. 90% of my games are on the externals because when I need to reboot the system to factory state (because of bugs
or slowness) I wont have to redownload and install all my games and apps. I have accidentally installed games twice because I thought that it needed to update and why it was showing as darkened out on my home screen. I have them set to install new games automatically
to the externals but when it is not detecting the "sleepy drives" it starts putting the game on the internals... all in all, I just dont want to have to hard reset and wait 5 minutes for all my games to show back up under the drives. Sounds simple and silly
for such a minor thing but it gets annoying...

I'm pinning all my hopes on a hung-over admin clerk hitting the dispatch button, or a sleepy driver picking up the wrong parcel

Each external HD performs different.

First go into the Xbox settings and make sure the external HD settings match your desired outcome.

Next go to each hd manufactures site or if you have the manual, look at any options that you may have.

I keep mine on and don't want the system to turn them off but again, all HD work differently.
