  2. 'Brandiesel your really reaching on that one lol. There is a lot of load screens but they are not long so I wouldn't even count that as a negative'.

You wouldn't even count the loading times and frequency as a negative? Are you serious? There are loading screens everywhere and they're quite long, especially given how prevalent they are and how quickly you'll transition between areas. You can play through
the entirety of Dark Souls without ever seeing a loading screen, for example, and you'll be loading a hell of a lot in Skyrim.

It's a huge negative, especially with how it gets so much worse with the DLC installed.

'Another negative is the melee combat is atrocious, but it's still a good game'.

I hear this a lot but I can't really agree with it. It's no Dark Souls or Dragon's Dogma but those are extremely polished examples of quite a common style of combat. Skyrim's combat I very much enjoy and appreciate. I'd very much regret them changing it
as a whole, though there'd be nothing wrong with a little more depth. Different weapons/different weapon tiers actually meaning more than... nothing/ability to parry or deflect attacks/so on would be fine if implemented well but I love it as it is. Simple
though it may be it really is quite elegant.

Bonez brings up many very good, relevant points and flaws with Skyrim but just to clarify for the OP: yes, there's no reason whatsoever you shouldn't play it whatsoever.

  3. There's a lot i can say about Skyrim but I also know that my opinion is in the minority, right or wrong. At least in Fallout 3 I felt like I had some semblance of impact on the world(Does Skyrim let you destroy an entire city? No, it doesn't.) I also find
that neither the action or rpg mechanics are that thrilling(I feel like Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning does it much better.) Also, for an open-world, it's surprising linear. You want your hand-held, it will hold your hand. Magic might be cool if it was actually
balanced(Destruction skill doesn't actually get stronger damage-wise compared to something like one-handed which does.) I could go on and on.

Explain this? I'm curious. I agree with the lack of a sense of impact and the strange design choices for magic,

  5. Combat is more exciting, varied, and overall jsut more fun then what is in skyrim. I wouldnt mind if the I found the rpg mechanics interesting but alot of it is mostly pointless perks that dont really make the skill tress stand out aprat from the obvious.
The impact of how I level my character has more importance and diversity in Reckoning. Its actually quite amazing how it can tailor to any playstyle really.

  6. I didn't like Skyrim due to the fact it crashed a lot on my Xbox360, but make no mistake it's an amazing game in it's own right, I prefer Dragons Dogma myself, it's a more focused Skyrim with much better combat, but the world isn't as impressive as Skyrim's.

For Skyrim, I think you would like it.

It has a more 'med-evil' and 'viking' feel to it than anything, which feels surprisingly good and refreshing. While with the story, you won't be able to make many real decisions which matter, but the stories and quests in it, especially the guilds, can really
draw you in. My personal favorite is the Dark Brotherhood, with what happens and when you go out to assassinate people. I don't know why I really enjoy that part... should I be worried? Skyrim, to play or not to play, that is the question :p

Anyway, it also has a good number of weapons in it of various kinds, a new ability that lets you 'Shout' at enemies, which can range from sending them flying away like ragdolls, setting the aflame, or even slowing down time. It is run by a cooldown timer,
too, so it doesn't cost mana. This feature will be one I will sorely miss in the next Elder Scrolls game, that's for sure.

The music is so darn incredible as well. You will probably forever remember the music in this game, especially the song that plays when you fight against a dragon. If there is only one thing a person can say they like about the game, it would HAVE to be
    that.

There are also a few DLC for the game as well, each one being pretty good. Personally, I think they are a little TOO overpriced, and that they should knock their price down by five dollars each, but that doesn't mean they aren't enjoyable. Dawnguard is fun
and adds in the strongest ranged weapon in the game, the crossbow, as well as a new vampire and
werewolf class (the second one is censored so I don't spoil anything by mistake). Hearthguard is... meh. There's no action in it, but you can build your own house and adopt a child, things like that. It is the cheapest
of the DLC, so if you like that sort of thing, go ahead. The Dragonborn DLC is probably the best of them all, adding in an entirely new area with a good amount of quests, weapons, and enemies, as well as new equipment and weapons. This one is the most expensive,
but is well worth it, even for the high price. Still, if you want, you can wait until the DLC goes on sale. I'm sure it will eventually.

If you are still unsure, I actually know of a good reviewer that I can link a video to. Seeing the game in action is the best way to tell if you might like it or not.

Just one last thing. Bethesda games are known for their glitches. Most are small and funny, but sometimes it can cause the game to crash, or a quest to glitch up. Most of these issues have been fixed through patches, which is a good thing, but it should
still be mentioned. I once had a glitch where a third of the ground in Whiterun, one of the cities you first get to, didn't load in, and I could walk under the ground and out of the city's walls! But once I got to a certain distance, the game crashed because
it had no idea what to do with my character.

Anyway, I hope you at least try the game! I think it's well worth the money! Especially if you get the version that has all of the DLC in it, the 'Legendary Edition'!

No Bob I do not consider it as a negative. I'm not entirely sure which part of my my first post you found confusing on that part but whatever. Anyway I didn't think that wait time was long tho I don't know what you classify as long but between 10 to 30 seconds
was never really a big deal to me plus i am easily amused I was always trying to see how many times I could rotate the images during the load screen lol.

I would not advise buying this game unless you love rebooting your console every 30 minutes.512 mb of ram is insufficient to run the games engine which results in frequent crashes of your console.Framerates drop in some places rendering the game virtually
unplayable.I did enjoy the parts I did get to play but the many glitches really hurt this game. You spend 20000 gold to have a horse to ride only to have your precious mount killed because it makes sense that a horse should attack a dragon or gallop off a
    cliff for no apparent reason.

  13. Skyrim, to play or not to play, that is the question

Best way to describe Skyrim. Stay for the amazing open world and marvel at how much content Bethesda manages to fit on 1 compact disk, when other developers need 2,3, or 4. Leave because the combat sucks, the missions are boring and your save file corrupts.
Its a flawed gem................. I guess, would be the best (or most honest) way to describe Skyrim.

I have only played the digital version so I dont really know if the game is better on disc.Having a disc based game and installing it may speed up the framerates to something quicker than chilled molasses.Maybe the 360 could pull data from both the hard
drive and disc simultaneously but I dont really know for sure.It may help with the hard lock ups to the console but it wont do much else for important NPCs who decide to chase wild bears and never return to where they're supposed to be and making it impossible
to complete quests or the trolls who try to attack you but cant because they fell off a ledge and are trapped in mid air.
