skyrim special edition won't start after installing disc

Did you install Legendary Edition content by following these steps?

To install the Skyrim Legendary Edition on the Xbox 360:

1. Insert the second disc into your Xbox 360 Xbox and follow the prompts.

2. The disc will first ask if you would like to update the game (to version 1.9). You must accept this update or the installer will exit.

3. After the update has been installed, you will be presented with a selection screen where you may select/deselect any combination of the three Skyrim DLCs - Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.

4. After making your selections, the installer will copy the add-on content to your Xbox 360 hard drive.

5. After installation is completed, you may play the Legendary Edition by removing the add-on disc and inserting disc one.

Thats because Skyrim uses the new disc format.

The disc carries on spinning for a couple of minutes after starting the game. Probably something to do with copy protection. After a couple of minutes the disc will stop spinning.

This should happen with any game that uses the new disc format.

Since your order of Skyrim Special Edition occurred after the release date, it was not eligible for this offer.

After the other suggestions, try moving ALL Skyrim related files on your HDD to a USB and starting up the game clean again.

Did your Skyrim re-install correctly? Have you tried a different copy of the game? It is possible the disc is broken. It wil not run properly if the disc is damaged and will not instal correctly (regardless of prior instalation).
