    Skyrim Special Edition Nexus Mods

    Hey Friends,

I am trying to download Nexus mods onto the Xbox store version of Skyrim: Special Edition. Some of the mods require SKSE (Skyrim Script Editor). When I try to run the SKSE launcher, it activates an error code that states, "You have the MS Store/Gamepass version of Skyrim, which is not compatible with SKSE." Is there a way to make this version of Skyrim and the script editor compatible?

    Thank you!

    :)

Nexus Mods on Skyrim Special Edition for PC

Hi Bolski, my name is Oskayra. I am very happy to be able to answer your question.

According to the Nexus Mods website, you can use Nexus Mods in Skyrim Special Edition from the Microsoft Store on PC using the Vortex mod manager. Vortex is a free mod manager that allows you to install Nexus Mods into games running on the Microsoft Store.

To use Vortex with Skyrim Special Edition from the Microsoft Store, follow these steps:

    1. Download and install Vortex from the Nexus Mods website.

    2. Open Vortex and click the "Add Game" button.

    3. Select "Skyrim Special Edition" and click "Next".

    4. Follow the on-screen instructions to set up Vortex for Skyrim Special Edition.

Once you have Vortex set up, you can start installing mods from Nexus Mods. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Find the mod you want to install in the Vortex mod library.

    2. Click on the mod and then click on the "Install" button.

    3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the mod.

Once you've installed a mod, you can turn it on or off in the Vortex mod menu.

Here are some tips for using Vortex with Skyrim Special Edition from the Microsoft Store:

Make sure your version of Skyrim Special Edition is updated to the latest version.

If you're having trouble installing a mod, check the mod's description page for help.

More information on how to use Vortex with Skyrim Special Edition can be found on the Nexus Mods website.

I hope my answer has been useful to you. If so, let me know and if you have any other problems, don't hesitate to contact me.

    best regards

Nexus Mods on Skyrim Special Edition for PC

BTW, I just got it to work using Vortex from NexusMods as per one reply. I believe the issue was the Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE64) not being enabled. Without it being enabled, any mods I would enable, Vortex would state that the plugin was invalid.

I uninstalled Vortex and did a clean install and now it works. Of course, that means achievements are disabled due to the mods, but it does work!

    Thanks!

Are you sure about that? I informed the XBox application in Windows to install to a different folder (E:\EboxGames\The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim Special Edition) and I can get to that folder with no issues.

I know it used to install games into an encrypted folder (such as E:\WIndowsApps), but I believe now, even though that encrypted folder still exists, it creates a link to the "public" folder you told the Xbox app to install to.
