Skyrim SE Corrupted Autosaves

Thanks Draeas. I didn't think I did anything wrong with the saves (like disconnecting power half-way through) - but I couldn't find anyone else anywhere experiencing the same issue and thought there must be like a million or so playing Skyrim each day. I think I eventually worked out a similar solution to you:

But I'm just really happy to hear it's a known issue. A patch will be most welcome. For a known issue, it was disappointing that Bethesda support didn't give me anything except very generic solutions for the problem. Ultimately ending with delete the saved games (both locally and in the cloud) if nothing else works.

I am sorry to hear that your skyrim saves wont load.

Unfortunatly it sounds as if your most recent saves became corrupt and so just do the autosave.

Is it just one save? Skyrim has like 3 or 5 autosaves. If one of those load them your save became corrupt somehow and you'll have to delete it and load another one.

One thing that causes a lot of freezing in Skyrim is the save system. To cut down on this everytime you make a save save in a new slot, never overwrite a previous save. I would also disable autosaves and just get used to manually saving. If you do use autosave
change the settings to only on fast travel and when waiting then every so often make a manual save and delete the autosaves. You might end up with 100 saves but just delete the old ones. This will also prevent corrupt save files.

Turn off the autosave. Pick back up at an earlier point in your game and try again. Autosave has corrupted more of my game than anything else. I turned it off ages ago. Those Black Books do cause weird things but I have read 7 of them now without any freezes.
Skyrim in particular has not been very good to me either but I have over 750 hrs on one character so it is possible.
