Skyrim saves disappearing after syncing

When I was playing skyrim over a month ago I got an error code saying it couldn't save, I deleted the local saves like it told me to but my save was still missing, I thought it was because 99% of that saves were quicksaves but my new save it happened again after that so I took a break from Skyrim. Last week I started a new one and everything was fine, I didn't get the message and the save was there everytime, I got on today and it started to sync which it rarely does and when it finally finished my save that I had spent hours on was gone, is there a way to prevent it from happening again?
