    Should The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim be backwards compatible with Xbox One?

    Skyrim needs to be backwards compatible.

    Skyrim, backwards compatible?

    Skyrim is not backwards compatible. You would need to purchase the One version in order to play it on the One.

    If a game is backwards compatible and you purchased a digital version, it will show in your Ready to Install section of your Games and Apps on the One.

    The 360 version of Skyrim is not backwards compatible. You'll want to check https://www.xbox.com/games/backward-compatibility to see if the other games you're missing are backwards compatible or not. Anything on disc would just need you to put the disc in the console.

    You can view all games that are backwards compatible at https://www.xbox.com/games/backward-compatibility and the 360 version of Skyrim is not backwards compatible.

    Is it possible someone else had your console set as your Home at that time that would have had the games as well?

    The 360 version of Skyrim is not backwards compatible with Xbox One. Which is why you are being asked to buy it.

    IF Skyrim is the Xbox 360 version of the game, then that will not work on the Xbox One as the game is not backward compatible. If you want to play it, then you will either have to use an Xbox 360 or purchase the Xbox One remastered version of the game.
