Skyrim Legendary Edition: Install Update Crash

I just bought the hard copy of the Skyrim Legendary Edition for Xbox360. I already have Hearthfire and Dragonborn installed, but it was cheaper for me to purchase the whole Legendary Edition than the digital Dawnguard DLC.

Anyway, here's what happens:

1) insert disc 2 (expansion installer)

2) starts loading

3) signs me out of Xbox Live (not sure if this is important)

4) message pops up saying that I need to install an update before I can install any of the DLC. I choose "yes"

5) starts installing

6) I hear a noise like some notification/message has opened but I don't see it

7) install freezes

This has happened every single time I've tried it (about 5). Just recently it started telling me that the disc was unreadable and I needed to clean it (it's pristine). Any ideas?

Oh, and when I just try to play Skyrim from disc 1, it freezes on "loading add ons"

Can I Install Skyrim Legendary Edition over Skyrim base downloaded from Xbox Live?

Hi Everyone,

I saw this questions was being asked with regards to upgrading Skyrim installed from Disc to Legendary (it's possible).

But I have bought Skyrim on Xbox live and only have digital download version.

Now I have an opportunity to buy a new Skyrim Legendary Edition disc version cheaper than downloading the three DLCs.

Will Legendary Edition "detect" my current Skyrim install and allow me to keep my saves?

And if it doesn't and it installs a completely separate game on X360, is there a way to copy / migrate my save game to the Legendary Edition game?

 

Skyrim: Legendary Edition DLC disc?

Hi, if I buy Skyrim on demand from Xbox Marketplace, will I be able to install the Skyrim: Legendary Edition DLCs to my hard drive and use them with Skyrim on my hard drive?

 

Update: After trying it about 20 times, I finally got to the "install add ons" screen, and it's almost done installing Dawnguard. I can't delete this post, sorry, so I guess it'll stay here.

But, just in case someone out there is experiencing the same issue, the problem progressed to kicking me back to the home screen after I was disconnected from Xbox Live, then telling me the disc was unreadable so I had to "clean" it and try again. I also
noticed that when I restarted my console (like it tells you to) it generally didn't register that I had cleaned the disc, so I had to do it again, so I started skipping that step. So then it kicked me back to the home screen, told me the disc was unreadable,
then froze once I tried to install the update. After that happened multiple times, it somehow fixed itself? Super frustrating.
