Skyrim LE update won't install

Picked up a disk copy of Skyrim: Legendary Edition at GameStop today on a whim. When I got it home and popped in Disc 2 to install the dlc, it popped up with a prompt to install an update and then immediately after with a "not enough room to install this
update" error message. Now, I know that can't possibly be true because the USB I selected has 400GB+ of free space on it. I tried uninstalling my existing dlc (just Dawnguard) and Skyrim update manually, then tried clearing the cache. I also tried loading
in Disc 1 first and then going to Disc 2, but nothing works.

Nothing I've found online has addressed this specific issue other than "maybe your drive is faulty," which seems unlikely to me since it's been functioning perfectly with my 360 as recently as this morning... I'd really just like to figure out what's going
on because I already own the base game and I just bought the LE because it was cheaper than getting all the rest of the dlc individually.

From what I've heard the maps should be free for LE after you install the update.

Yes, this is INSTALLING FROM THE DISC and NOT "Downloading" the game from the marketplace.

If his disc is ruined, chances are it won't manage to get past the installation.

This was all post December 2011 XBox live update too, Skyrim, was buggy but it worked fine even installed before the Xbox live update. The December 2011 update and Skyrim do not mix on my Xbox for some reason.
