    Skyrim freezing glitch


    Okay, so I am in the Dwemer ruins in Understone Keep, doing the "Kill the Big Spooky Spider" quest, when my game freezes. So I delete my previous saves, and after a few more lock ups I am able to advance and kill the spider. But, when I go further into the
    ruin, my game begins to freeze every time my character takes damage. I cleared the system cache, but it made no difference. Help, o Xbox oracles! I have Skyrim: Legendary Edition and am playing on a Xbox 360 Elite.

    Should I buy it?

    If Skyrim isn't in your collection your missing out, simple as that. 150+ hours in, no freezing, bugs or glitches here.

    I'm having problems with my skyrim game?? It was working fine and then I did the update and now it keeps freezing, going slow and the graphics seem to glitch :/ Help please? Anyway I can fix it?

    It could be an issue with the storage device itself. Is the game a disc version or digital? If digital then try deleting the game only then redownloading it.

    If it's the disc version try installing the game to the hard drive to see if that helps.

    I recommend deleting unused, older saves. I've found that the game speeds up a bit and doesn't take as long to save. Turning off auto save also speeds gameplay up some and as Jameser78 pointed out, is the current workaround for the Waking Nightmare glitch.
    Just remember to save often if you turn the auto save feature off.

    If you are in the quest "Waking Nightmare" you must shut off ALL autosaves and complete the quest and get back outside before you can save.

    It's a quest specific glitch caused by a recent patch.

    If this isn't the quest in question, let me know and we can move on to looking deeper into this.
