    Have had the Xbox 1 since Day 1, and tonight I checked my emails for which my Microsoft account is associated with. I got an email from Skype saying my subscription has expired (use my Microsoft Account). You shouldn't have to renew your subscription to
    keep using individual and group video calls on Skype on your Xbox 1 console right? I only say this because you need Skype to video chat on Xbox 1. And Skype doesn't let you change what personal info you provide to private it just leaves it on Public with no
    way to change it to Private or Contacts Only. Funny how with the Xbox division of Microsoft, they provide tonnes of options in your Privacy Settings yet Skype doesn't. I probably won't need to renew it. Thanks for reading.

    PS I haven't provided any personal info on Skype just my first name country not DOB/last name. A Skype forum moderator said you can provide as little or much information it doesn't matter if your Skype profile is 20% complete you still have full access to
    the service.

    Have you tried contacting MS support to see if they can help you? I do not really use the skype app so I am not sure what to suggest other than that.

    Group video calling is now free for all Skype users, so you can keep using this feature.

    I got an email also saying I needed to subscribe also or omit subscription would be expired. It's 2.99 a month can anyone verify this ???

    Is it something to do with the regular Skype categories, maybe? Skype-to-Skype is always free, but Skype-to-Landline or Skype-to-Mobile has various subscription levels to it. I'm not sure what subscription level you get, if any, from Live Gold. Gonna look
    it up. :)

    Video Chat is always free with Skype. What you get with the X1 version if you are gold is Group Voice chat, which is a premium service on other devices.

    1) Sign out from XBox One

    2) Uninstall Skype

    3) Sign In into XBox One

    4) Install Skype
