    Skype won't start


    My Skype on Xbox One keep crashing, after start.

    I already tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but still the same result.

    The Xbox runs the newest OS Version.

    Does anyone has a solution for this

    Skype just hangs

    My Skype worked previously and its been a few weeks since opening it. Now it just sits at the splash screen and won't start up. Just stuck with no way to end the program... How can i re-install Skype to get it working again?

    when ever i try and switch party chat on it won't connect at all, could this be that the person im trying to talk to is in a different country ?? cos this is really annoying as skype calling them works fine, but is disconnects skype when you start a game

    It can not be possible that your own Software is so buggy.

    One workaround to get Skype working again that was discovered on the Skype Community is to open the Skype app in snapped mode:

    community.skype.com/.../4229708

    Once launch and signing in to the app has finished you can switch back to fullscreen and the app should continue to work normally onwards.

    Would be great if you can try it out and report back if it worked for you as well.

    Skype won't start

    i tried this, it worked for me

    1) Sign out from XBox One

    2) Uninstall Skype

    3) Sign In into XBox One

    4) Install Skype

    I can vouch that the same thing is happening for me. Was fine yesterday and then today Skype won't work. Exact issue as described above. It will start to load and then minimize and refuse to open or do anything else, even with power cycling and hard reboots.
    Tried uninstalling and now it is completely frozen, won't even try to load/open if I click on it.

    Skype is free... why the hell would they add subscriptions... it is the most only popular video chat and messaging systems...

    They won't start charging money, that's why they have call to phones, if you think they will begin making people pay you have zero business sense.

    Did you try starting the Skype app in snapped mode as described in
    support.xbox.com/.../multitask-with-snap     ?

    Members of the Skype Community reported that using this workaround they were able to start Skype and also later on switch to full screen mode and the app continued to work.
