Skype Headset Issues/Headset not working

Has anybody noticed a few issues when using a headset in Skype?

Problem 1: I have my "Kinect for chat" setting disabled in the Xbox One settings and nine times out of ten, when I go to call a friend using Skype, the ringer comes through the headset as you would expect, but as soon as the call connects, all audio comes
out through my TV speakers and neither the microphone on my headset or my kinect seem to pick up anything I say. I can hear my friend through the TV (not my headset) but he can't hear me.

Problem 2: I got the headset to work once or twice through sheer luck but noticed that if you put the controller down next to you and chat away to your friend for a while, eventually the controller turns itself off due to inactivity Meaning that I temporarily
lose comms with my buddy and have to turn on the controller again and ask them to repeat what they just said. Surely this should be fixed so that whilst a user is using the headset in Skype, the controller is kept awake?

Come on MS there really is no excuse for this. Skype is your own product running on your own console. what is this amateur hour?

Cannot be heard by friends when in party mode

The headset is working perfectly well on skype on my ipad, so we have tested the headset is ok.

 

If your headset won't work in party chat

I was able to get the headset working by making a skype call then the headset began to work. After leaving Skype the party chat worked. Same thing happened to another friend the same night and the same fix worked.
