Skype/Games/Other Apps Refuse to open or crash shortly after

So yesterday everything seemed fine with my xbox except for The ESO was crashing like 75% time i was playing it, i attributed this to the free weekend play. However, I logged on to skype and it opened for 2 seconds then crashed and would not work again.
I did like 4 power cycles with holding the xbox button, unplugging, nothing worked. I even tried to uninstall it and here is where the real problem came in. I was unable to uninstall, copy or move it. I started seeing if other apps had this problem and sure
enough some did. I had all my info stored on my Xbox External hard drive so I started to think it was going out...even if it only is 4 months old. So i formatted it losing all my games and apps and I am in the process of downloading them to the internal hard
drive...except i downloaded Skype first and wouldn't you know it...IT CRASHED AGAIN. Not only that, I cant uninstall or move it. Has anyone encountered these types of error recently? I am in the preview program but I signed up for the delayed updates because
there were to many bugs in the earlier builds. Please someone tell me how to fix this or if its microsofts fault and I just need to wait for an update to fix it all.

Skype crash in snap mode

Hi all!

I want to report about Skype crash on Xbox One. You can easily reproduce this, just open Skype in snap mode. Then change focus from Skype to another app or game and after that send any picture from another device to this account.

One workaround to get Skype working again that was discovered on the Skype Community is to open the Skype app in snapped mode:

community.skype.com/.../4229708

Once launch and signing in to the app has finished you can switch back to fullscreen and the app should continue to work normally onwards.

Would be great if you can try it out and report back if it worked for you as well.

 

Didnt work, I have same issue since win 10 upgrade, basically skype starts, with circle loading symbol, then on load it immediately minimises and you are back to main screen. SOOOOooo frustrating, anyone had any luck with a fix? Please...

 

i have the same problem.youtube wont open,twitch is broken,my activity feed wont load,games with gold wont open...

 

I can vouch that the same thing is happening for me. Was fine yesterday and then today Skype won't work. Exact issue as described above. It will start to load and then minimize and refuse to open or do anything else, even with power cycling and hard reboots.
Tried uninstalling and now it is completely frozen, won't even try to load/open if I click on it.

 

Did you try starting the Skype app in snapped mode as described in
support.xbox.com/.../multitask-with-snap ?

Members of the Skype Community reported that using this workaround they were able to start Skype and also later on switch to full screen mode and the app continued to work.

 

Exact same problem here. After restarting a few times finally managed to get Skype to uninstall. Struggling to get it to reinstall from xbox store now though
