Skype App keeps freezing when making a call

So for about the last two weeks the Skype app has been unusable. It freezes up entirely and crashes about 15 seconds after starting the app. I've deleted and redownloaded numerous times.

I'm not sure if it's the app, the Kinect, or the X1 whose the cause of this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Skype Difficulties between Panasonic Viera BRDVD player & Xbox One

Hi,

I've been experiencing really terrible pixelation and freezing when I call a user on skype who is using the Panasonic Viera Skype app.

I've placed both my xbox one and the remote user's skype dvd player in the DMZ on both networks.

I've verified calling Viera-Skype to Viera-Skype shows no pixelation or freezing.

BUT, when I call from xbox->viera in either direction - horrendous freezing and pixelation; audio is fine.

Is there some sort of incompatibility between clients?

Is xbox expecting a resolution the panasonic player/remote camera can't provide?

Running out of ideas here but happy to further troubleshoot if someone can help me / provide details.

Can't answer calls on skype while playing in a different app

Hey guys,

first post here but I am stuck.

I love using Skype on the One but i noticed that when I recieve a call while playing a game or browsing a different app I can't answer it without the call dropping. I have no issue making the call but when I am trying to answer the call while playing it
just closes out. I re installed Skype and no help.

Any ideas?

Ok, you've deleted and re-installed the app. That's a good start. Can you try holding the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it restarts? That is like clearing the cache on the 360 and should solve your issue.

 

Is that the same as powering off the console and doing a hard reset via unplugging the power cord? If so I've done that a couple times. If not I'll do as you said when I get home.

That's pretty much the same thing. Your issue is a strange one and I can't seem to find anything on it in the support forums. I would recommend contacting phone support for a little more help on this issue.
