Sky TV app not working on wired connection

    Sky TV app not working on wired connection


    I have been using Sky TV on Xbox One using a wired (Ethernet) connection for the last 4 months without any problems. The other day it suddenly started to not load and said that it couldn't connect to Sky servers. I unplugged my Ethernet cable and used a
    wireless connection and the app loaded fine.

    Is there any reason that it wouldn't work with a wired connection when it has been working fine for 4 months previous?

    Sky TV app not working

    It let's me choose the show I want to watch but never loads and just says that there was a problem connecting and to try again in a few minutes.

    Sky TV app not working

    Anyone else having trouble getting Sky TV to work on Xbox One? I've installed the app but when i try to run it it just goes back to the Xbox Home Screen. I don't get the sign in/up options on the app. Any ideas?

    Hi Luk396!

    From how I understand it, the only way to access Sky Go is through the TV from Sky app on Xbox One and Series X|S consoles.

    Xbox One and Series X|S console apps - some apps may not be available in your country/region.

    Set up TV from Sky on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S - step by step guide, which also mentions:

    Please be aware that Sky Go Extra is referred to as TV from Sky when downloading or selecting the app on your console.

    So don’t listen to anything that says you need the Sky Go app, as this app isn’t available on Xbox consoles. I believe you can access the service through the Sky app on Xbox One, as long as you’re connected to Xbox Live and have Sky Go Extra on your Sky account.

    The Sky Go app is available on compatible smartphones, tablets, laptops etc. Just not on consoles, which explains why you’re unable to find it on your Xbox One.

    I'm trying to use it to watch Sky TV over my internet connection.

    I've got a sky subscription, and they've said I can use the app rather than having to pay for a second Sky box for a second room.

    Problem is it won't download.

    Neither will Amazon Prime, both stop at 79%.

    Yet other apps, like Netflix and sky news downloaded fine. The Xbox works fine as far as I can see.
