Sky Q

Dear Support,

Can you advise if the new Sky Q box has or is being tested for compatibility with the Xbox One. I am upgrading from my Sky HD box on 16th April and wondered if it will cause any issues with functionality. I assume as it only uses HDMI pass through that it
should work ok?

Xbox X and Sky Q Decoder

Hi all, I have a question, does Xbox X supports UHD 4k signal from Sky Q Decoder?

I mean, if I connect Sky Q throught HDMI IN port of Xbox X, will I able to watch 4k channel?

It should work just fine, the only part that probably wont will be Kinect being able to change channels or turn Sky Q on/off because I doubt there will be the IR codes for it yet (though generic Sky one might)

Thanks for your response, the Sky Q box seems to mention Bluetooth but no mention of IR connection and I assume IR is how the Xbox/Kinect speaks to the sky box to enable channel changing and tagging on/off?

 

sky q apparently uses a bluetooth remote control and therefore will not use ir, this is all i know at the moment so kinect will never be able to operate it.

 

SKY Q uses both IR and Bluetooth. I have this set up, but is limited, I have posted another thread with the remote code. but only on/off and channel select work through xbox one, as sky have changed the IR for the sky Q. Logitech harmony works with sky Q
as they have updated the remote codes, just waiting on MS to do the same.

On/Off and channel select works. Play/Pause/FF and RW do not at the moment
