    Sky Hub wired connection issues


    Hello,

    I'm having trouble connecting to xbox live with a wired connection to the sky hub. Wireless seems to connect fine however the router is 1 foot away from the xbox so wired makes much more sense.

    The text xbox live connection function on the xbox 360 passes network, passes internet and then gets an xbox live connection error at the final step.

    I've got uPnP enabled on my router but no joy. I've also opened ports 80, 53, 3074 and 88. As per instructions on this: Xbox 360 Network Ports and Router Configurations for Xbox Live page. I still get the same error despite restarting all
    of the hardware.

    Has anyone else had this issue or knows how to resolve it?

    Help me please!

    So I bought a Ethernet cable as my wired connection dropped from 18 to 0.9 everytime I downloaded something but it continues to do so while wired. Surely this shouldnt be happening. Im with sky and using the hub. Any ideas?

    Another ICMP connection error.

    Snow Leopard on Mac. Wireless connection to hub.

    Xbox is wired to hub. No actual connection between the two.

    As I understand, You can use wireless connection without any problems, but when You use wired connection, You can't connect to Xbox Live, I'm right?

    First of all, I need to ask, if Your issue is going on right now or it's fixed already? Thanks.

    If not we will start troubleshooting of Your network connection.

    Yeah, on Wireless it works perfectly however when I put the RJ45 into the back of the xbox and start everything up again it fails to connect to xbox live. I thought it might be ports to be forwarded but did all that and still nothing.

    Can You do network test, when You use Your wired connection? If so, please post results here, like where connection is can't be established, then press Y button and post advanced information.

    Hi all,

    Just to answer some of your questions and reiterate some of the components and their current layout.

    The Sky Hub SR101 does have DMZ with an input for 1 IP address.

    The Netgear modem/router is a DGN2200. This is piggybacked off the Sky hub and has the Wifi enabled (as its N) and the Sky hub G is disabled. This then allows me WifI N access.

    The Switch is also piggybacked to the Sky hub and gives an extra 8 ports.

    Speaking to my kids again tonight about their connection issues they tell me that if one of them hosts a game the other can't connect to it, and vice versa however if one of their friends hosts a game they can both connect to it. If that helps at all. This
    doesn't change the fact that they still get randomly dropped from multiplayer connections and it's usually whoever connects second.

    Have you tried a wired connection directly to your Xbox One console from your BT Home Hub? Give that a shot and let us know if the issue persists on wired connection instead of a wireless connection. This will help us narrow down the issue!
