Sky HD + Harmony One remote + One Guide - does this combo work?

I just connected my Sky HD box to Xbox One and wanted to use One Guide instead of sky box tv guide. I'm using Harmony One remote, which works fine with Xbox One TV Tuner (disconnected now). Harmony works fine with xbox and I can open One Guide, but it seems
no commands are passed to Sky box and I can't change channels or access any of its features. How can I make it work with Sky HD + One Guide? Is a particular type of HDMI cable required? I don't have Kinect. Is IR cable or Kinect necessary for such setup?

I know I can program Harmony to talk directly to Sky box, but I'd like to use features of One Guide for sky.

One Guide?

Hi. Is the one guide up and running yet? I watch my sky hd box through the xb1 but still use the sky remote etc to switch channels etc. or am i being thick and cant see the wood for the trees.

Supporting numbers in the one guide

I also have a harmony one remote and I've been having the same problem. I would like to use the number keypad to go directly to a channel instead of having to skip multiple channels. Is there anyway of updating my harmony one remote to get it to work
with the Xbox One guide and the Harmony One number keypad. Thanks for any help.

Hello. I have tested the same Combo, but got Kinect, too. The commands will be sent by Kinect via IR. For all i know, without Kinect you have to program your Harmony for the sky Receiver.

Gozem, indeed you are correct about the xbox using the Kinect to transmit IR to control your TV and media boxes.

Gieneq, Yes you need connect. Then, in the settings there are options to configure which media boxes you have. You need to ensure you have correctly configured the xbox to talk to a Sky+ box. If you have done this then it is possible to IR signals are not
getting to the Sky box (possibly due to placement). Please look at troubleshooting on this page or possibly that you need an extender

My Channel guide and info came back today but my pause and rewind on my Microsoft media remote and also Xbox Elite controller is not working? Even tried my Harmony One remote which I have Xbox programmed in Pause and rewind does not work.

SKY Q uses both IR and Bluetooth. I have this set up, but is limited, I have posted another thread with the remote code. but only on/off and channel select work through xbox one, as sky have changed the IR for the sky Q. Logitech harmony works with sky Q
as they have updated the remote codes, just waiting on MS to do the same.

On/Off and channel select works. Play/Pause/FF and RW do not at the moment
