    Skin issue, Minecraft Bedrock


    I recently downloaded Minecraft Windows 10 Edition to relive my old childhood memories (I was a Pocket Edition player when it was based on Bedrock, and it looks almost the same as W10 Edition) as I'm now a Java player. I looked for skin packs on the Marketplace and I saw that some had 1 free skin. I looked for a good skin and after 10 -15 minutes of searching, I found one. So I equipped it on my character and I went to go edit the character to add a cape. But when I clicked the Edit Character button, my skin was changed back to Steve.

    Yes when I try to change my skin in Minecraft Java my skin is stuck on the Alex skin but the same skin works for the Bedrock Edition of Minecraft . And I have tried using another skin but that too did not work .

    I'm and today I will try to help you.

    Well, let's start with that this is not a Minecraft for Windows 10 Edition issue.
    It is normal.

    You cannot edit an installed character from the Marketplace, the only characters you can modify are Steve and Alex; characters that come pre-installed in the game.

    The characters installed via Marketplace are not modifiable, that's why Steve is put back to you, because Steve is an editable character, while the one you are trying to edit is not.

    I went on minecraft's official page, and you CANNOT add ANY custom skins on Xbox, you can ONLY add custom skins on Bedrock for pc, mobile, and Chromebook

    Minecraft Earth Skin

    The skin is only usable on the Bedrock Editions of Minecraft, so you cannot use it in the Java Edition.

    You will get a code through email which can be entered on
    redeem.microsoft.com    , after which you can download the skin as a DLC for the Windows 10 or Xbox Edition of Minecraft.
