Skills not giving attribute bonuses at level up?

Also, to clarify, this save I'm loading is before the 10th skillup needed to get the meditate message. Light Armor also isn't one of my major skills.

Attributes and gold find, magic find, and exp bonuses are awarded every paragon level.

In morrowind you specifiy "major skills" and "minor skills". both get a point boost to start with major getting a higher point boost. leveling 10 (in any combo) of these skills up grants a level. the rest of the skills outside of the major/minor ones are
called miscellaneous and do not contribute to the next level as far as progress. leveling any skill however does contribute (in some way) to the bonus (+1 to +5) you get when you pick 3 attributes to rank up when you level up.

Using better gear is a nice reason. Although, it seems to me any points after that are almost completely negated. The only reason I say so is that each level only does so much for damage reduction bonuses. Though, attribute bonuses would probably yield more
reward for attempting that instead. I see reason in that sense, to increase more damage output by having proper attributes moved up appropriately. I do wish they'd fix the damage scaling a bit more, though. It's odd, seeing high levels in gear that offers
no bonuses, though. Just something fun to think about.

They added Badass Ranks which have no level cap, so you can keep racking those up and increase your characters basic attributes. I'm sure there will be a level cap so that you can't have all your skills maxed out.
