    Size Limit on Free-to-Play Games?


    WarGaming.net has stated that various features for World of Tanks have either been removed or not been implemented because Microsoft imposes a size limit on free-to-play games. Supposedly, that size limit is 50 gigabytes. Now, it's not that I don't believe
    them, but I lied, I don't believe them. At the very least, I want some confirmation that this claim is true.

    Does Microsoft have a limit on how big a game can be for it to remain free-to-play? Is there a fee if a game exceeds a certain size? Does a game developer have to pay Microsoft depending on how large a game is? Does that amount increase based on the size
    of the game? Not sure where I can look up this information. Any clarification or guidance is appreciated.

    FIFA is free for a limited time, not a Games with Gold game. So you would have to buy it in order to continue playing. Any games that have a Free Play weekend or period like that would be the same.

    Games with Gold games on the 360 are free to continue playing with no limit. Games with Gold games on the One are free to play as long as you have gold.

    Hey there, unfortunately, the game itself has a limit on the amount/size of the mods that can be used with it. Adding additional storage won't be required or used as it is a relatively small size.

    I'm sure it will turn up, maybe if the XBLA rules limit the download size - they could split the game in two and charge only half the price for each part - that way getting around the size limitations.

    Or maybe MS will let them release it on disc - with loads of extras.
