Since update, slow cold starts?

Hi all

I have my console set to fully shut down when I don't play it, cold starts are not that long anyways, however since the latest update my start times are looooooong........

I get the initial green Xbox loading screen, the black screen for 30 to 60 seconds before it signs me in or takes me to the hud, that may not sound like a long time, but it is....

Is anyone else noticing this?

Update Slow as cold molasses.

Clear the system cache by going into system settings, then memory, then go to device options by pressing y on your consoles hdd, then go to clear system cache

I have noticed considerable slowdown from boot time to some games stuttering and the new controller updates seam to cause more and more audio glitches and controller lag than before.

It is normal for Xbox 1 and PC's with 5400rpm HDD's to take 1-2 minutes to start up and load everything from a cold start. It's what we call 21st century technology so it isn't perfect. Since the February Update, I have noticed NO slower cold start times.
It takes me only about 45 minutes to cold start my console and for the Kinect to identify me and log me in and for everything to have loaded.

Are you in this Preview Program thingy? Everyone who is in it should know if they sign up to it, although you get to preview before the full version releases for everyone, it's like having a buggy Beta Dashboard on you. I am not in it.

Haven't noticed. My ritual is to power on then grab a glass of tea; it's always ready when I get back.

That's a good ritual, better than sitting down waiting.... waiting... gets out a stop watch.

 

Why not use instant on? I've been using it since the xbox launched with no problem's.

 

I have used both instant on and cold boot, they are showing signs of slightly slower than before the update and yes im in the preview, but it is the controller and audio through the controller that is bugging me, seems to lag more and stutter and point where
the audio just cuts out then comes back, also games like horizon have been stuttering also, ive used internal and external drives.

 

@Smiles - I realise load time is going to take a while, particularly from cold start, however it has been longer since the update... No I am not in the preview program.

@Goat - I find the instant on mode requires hard resets, where full shutdowns obviously ceases the need.

Also, I am not too fussed, but it is slower and just feeling out if it is my system (possible hardware issue) or multiple systems with this issue which may imply the update.

 

Tbh I haven't noticed any difference in start up in instant on, I'm in the preview too. I have noticed one thing though, on shut down, I hold the home button in and it takes up to 10 seconds sometimes for the shutdown menu to pop up.

 

or it shows up and you can only control whats in the background still and not what is in the front.

 

I have actually had that happen twice in the past, that was last year though. But yeah, annoying when it happens.
