Since MS is updating the controller again...

Why don't they go ahead and add a low battery indicator to it. You know, like the one they had with the 360. The onscreen indicator doesn't do a good job telling how much battery life is still left. Playing last week, looked at the onscreen indicator, it
appeared about half full. 30 minutes later, dead, right in the middle of a game. I never had this issue with the 360 controller. The lights would flash and I knew I had to change them fairly shortly.

After the recent preview beta update for my controller, my microphone cannot pick up sound. I'v tried everything from updating again to power cycle please help MS!

As annoying as the flashing light on my 360 controller was, I loved the fact that it would give me a visual to replace my battery. I was rather confused why my X1 controller didn't have it.

 

My lights would flash on the 360 controller and I still had hours left of play time. Neither are accurate options from my experience.

I have to agree with you.

 

@vikingland PS3, tablets and smartphones battery indicators are very reliable so there is really no excuse as to why 360 and now X1 is so terrible . I think MS only shows the bar in ranges instead of the actual percentage left in the batteries. At least
that's what I've came up with during my observations.

 

I agree. They put the batteries thing on the home page. Its not acute at all. I had half one time then 10 second later it dies. Its so annoy. Also Im very happy about this controller update since its going to fix the creaking with the headsets.

 

To have an accurate indicator you need to know the exact battery type and mah etc, you will find the xbox battery indicator is brilliant with the xbox rechargeable battery. However a poor indicator with third part batteries due to not being able to detect
this information accurately.

 

I second this. I would love a battery icon to appear on the screen if I am playing a game just to let me know. It usually always happens to me when I am in the middle of an online game lol

 

@fooxman I don't know about X1 but the battery indicator with Xbox 360 play and charge kit was no less better than using third party batteries.

 

I would like on screen message. It would say low battery. But I do not think it going to happen.
