Since "cortana" update my controller disconnect issues have returned

Had massive controller disconnect issues last year, but might have stopped around the fall update last year or only very seldomly, but every since the last update, voice commands are sluggish to respond (Cortona is off), and my controllers just randomly
start blinking when ever they feel like it. Brought my friend's controllers over they don't work, moved wireless farther away, everything I could, definitely feels like it is update related.

Xbox One Black screen

Same thing here with my 2nd console (I returned 1st for having controller disconnect issues). 2nd console I returned for this same issue plus controller disconnect issue. People will try to tell you it is an HDMI handshake issue, but its not. Total black
screen, but audio works perfectly. Same thing happens to my brother (black screen). Only solution is to reboot.

xbox one controller issues after fall update

Please notify Microsoft so they have a record of it and maybe they can issue an update. Don't think its the controller because when finally inside an app it scrolls easily. My media remote doesn't work either since the update. Thanks for replying.

I would recommend checking out the "Xbox One Wireless Controller disconnects or can't connect" page,

I have the issue also been since the Cortana preview update now I buy games for my kids they can't play them

Please make sure you always install the latest firmware

I also had disconnection issues with my controller but I've managed to sort out mine. Cellphones are a major culprit with wireless interference. Since I no longer have my cellphone close to my controller, I no longer have disconnection issues.

Another culprit is third party wireless headsets. Some of them have wireless dongles which also causes disconnection issues.

Also, since the last/latest firmware update for my controller, the connectivity is much more stable. Below is a guide on how to update the firmware:

I'll give the USB cable a try to see if it is interference.
