My xbox one is overheating...it is in a well ventilated place. I have over the years purchased prob about 10 xbox 360's , and one xbox one....when you pay this much for something it should work for quite a while , but they do not. My one is out of warranty
and i was wondering what you guys might suggest since Microsoft builds absolute **** and does not support it long enough.

By opening the Xbox 360 console, it is no longer eligible to be repaired at the servicing center. According to the Exclusions From Service section on the Terms and Conditions for repair:

Microsoft reserves the right to refuse Service on Xbox Products that are:... (3) opened, modified, or tampered with.

My suggestion is to get another Xbox 360.

All electronics have a limited warranty OP & MS is no different to any other company that makes electronic products.

Why people should expect a lifetime warranty on a product is beyond me, nothing is covered by warranties for longer than a year.

Self repair can not be discussed on the forums so no advice about fixing it yourself can be given here.

But the way I see it you can either send it in for repair or buy another console, whatever platform you decide.

If you had not waited since October you could have had it done if it only expired a week ago, that's not their fault either.

sounds like an overheating problem. or maybe an over sensitive touch button. id recommend maybe sending it in for a service

Yeah... that sounds like you may need to have it serviced. Unexpectedly turning off because of overheating is one thing, but having it smell burnt isn't a good sign. Is it still under warranty?
