If you are receiving an error message stating that you need EA Play to run The Sims 4 on your Xbox, it is possible that your game pass ultimate subscription has expired and you now need to purchase an EA Play subscription in order to continue playing the game or game pass subscription, make sure the service is active.

It is easy to remove a Microsoft account from Xbox One console as it is not necessary to sign in to the account. See how:

Press the Xbox  button to open the dashboard.

Select System > Settings > Account > Remove Accounts.

Select the account to be removed, then select Remove to confirm.

When finished, select Close.

Clearing the cache:

Turn off your xbox, remove the source/cable from the socket and leave it like that for 2 minutes, then you can turn it on.

You can add your Microsoft account to any Xbox One console. See how:

Press the Xbox  button to open the dashboard.

Select your gamerpic in the top left corner of the screen, scroll down and select Add New.

Enter the email address of the Microsoft account you want to add and select Enter.

I really want this for Xbox 1 too. EA make their Sims games for a WIDE variety of platforms. I would really be a happy bunny if they released that, The Sims 3, and The Sims 4 on X1. Sims 4 was due to be released early this year but the game devs has postponed
it for later this year. I don't know what the PC version of it is like I've played The Sims 3 on PC it's awesome. Have given up on PC gaming since I joined Xbox late 2010 mainly due to this thing called PC requirements. You don't have to worry about such requirements
on consoles. My current laptop with Intel Core i5, Windows 7 and AMD HD 6490 can't play Sims 3 but my old laptop which I no longer have could until the display stopped working

I had a little search regarding Sims 4 and Xbox Live Gold, there are posts on the EA forums stating:

"You don't need an
Xbox Live Gold subscription to play The Sims 4, although you do need it to use the Xbox online services, required to use some social features (like sharing videos).

As long as you want to play The Sims 4 with no online features, you don't need an Xbox Live Gold subscription."

So it's strange that you'd be asked to update Xbox Live Gold. I wonder if the situation has changed recently.

The Sims 4 has gone free to play and does not require any sort of subscription
