Simple Network test for people who don't know

I do read quite a few people who moan about Xbox Service being slow etc, although this is not just limited to Xbox service for example PC savoy people will test their ping response time if they are getting slow or poor performance from their network just
to make sure the problem does not lay their end of the connection.

there could be a whole host of factors to why your connection is slow, for example just to name a few :

one or more computers are downloading, uploading, watching YouTube or streaming, one of the worse Programs for doing this will be running torrent software in the background.

it can even be your ISP (internet service provider) having bandwidth issues or other technical issues

This is where a small peace of software that's as old as Windows O/S it's self can come in handy, the ping command.

a good tool to use just to find out if your end of the connection is having any issue's, it's all to easy to start shouting a service is rubbish and rant on about it.

those of you with No network understanding using the ping command when using an Microsoft Windows based PC is very easy to do and only take a few seconds.

Ping is an basic way to see how quick your connection is with any given server the lower the Ping the faster the computers can respond to each other, it is also a very handy tool to see if your getting any packet loss.

packet loss is when your computer sends a peace of information to an given address but it dose not reach its destination and that more than likely means the issue is at your end, could be ISP issues or worst case virus that's stealing info from your computer
or just an hardware issue.

I would strongly advise running a simple Ping test on your network first before ranting at the very least you know if the problem lay's with you or the service your having issues with.

To use the ping command when using an Microsoft Windows Based PC you must type the command in using the terminal screen or Dos screen

for example if your using Windows 10 then simply

1. Right Click the windows icon in the bottom left hand corner of the screen and select Run command

2. Type cmd in the little run window and then press the enter key this will bring up the Dos screen

3 Type ping bing.com or other server/website you want to test

this is the most simple test I can think of to find out if your having any issues your end of the connection or if you just want to see if your getting any packet loss for any reason.

they have simplified the proccess but they cannot account for 3rd party browsers or people who don't know net 101

Simple test, everyone file a report on people who use this product

Any action taken would mean it's cheating.
