Simple mob spawner

anyone know the best mob spawner just to get loot, I don't want anything big just a simple 10x10 box lol I've built one but it's not really brilliant

Why do we keep getting attacked while sleeping?!

ACTUALLY MOBS WILL SPAWN AT DARK PLACES REGARDLESS OF THE TIME OF DAY.

You have to put a torch in your house AND around your house so mobs won't spawn around you.

 

Slimes/ Slime Farm

This may not be that correct but I think slimes have like about a 1/10 chance to spawn while other mobs have around a 7/10 chance to spawn, or something like that. The more mobs around, both hostile and passive, the less likely slimes will spawn. Best
thing to do is light up all the caves around the area and above ground. This will at least stop hostile mobs from spawning and give the slimes a better chance to spawn. If possible, it's best to find a slime chunk out in the water just so other mobs don't
have land to spawn on and lower the slime's chance of spawning. Another thing that helps them spawn is by killing other mobs in the area. Once they die, a "spawn slot" opens up for another mob to spawn and you have a bigger chance of it being a slime.

If you make vertical spawning pads then make them two thick. This way you can leave holes in the bottom layer to add lighting, torches or glowstone, so that hostile mobs don't spawn, and you don't block any of the spawnable areas for the slimes.

You don't have to make it this big, to layers should do it as the mob cap size isn't that great, also make sure there are no dark spot within 125 blocks of the grinder as mobs will spawn in these instead of the grinder
