Silverlight Avatar Editor Doesnt Appear

The avatar editor uses Silverlight to display the content for the avatar. I recommend logging in with Internet Explorer to get the best experience. If you are using a Mac, Silverlight can be buggy and isn't fully supported.

This happens to me too. When I first went to the avatar editor page all that was on it was the "down load Silverlight" icon. When I did that it said I already had it installed. It still didnt change anything. So I uninstalled it and re-installed from the
avatar editor page. It installed successfully. I re-booted but still, only the Silverlight download icon is on the avatar editor page, nothing else. What is going on here?

No, I cannot use the xbox.com Avatar Editor, as I use a Mac computer, and Silverlight will not work with it. I thought I could use Internet Explorer on my Xbox to log in here and use the editor here, but oddly enough, Microsoft Silverlight is apparently
not compatible with the Microsoft Xbox. Go figure, huh? If Microsoft could set up Xbox.com to fully function within the Internet Explorer on the Xbox, then I would just hop onto the Avatar Editor there.

I couldn't find anything in the Windows store. The Games app is supposed to let you change your avatar, but it didn't work for me. What did work for me is this:

1) Download and install Microsoft Silverlight:

www.microsoft.com/silverlight

2) Go to your profile and click on Edit Avatar. It will take you to the Avatar Editor page:

live.xbox.com/.../AvatarEditor

You need Microsoft Silverlight to make it work, though. That was my original problem.

Unfortunately, that is a workaround that CANNOT work for me. I am unable to install Silverlight onto my Mac laptop, as it is incompatible. If the Internet Explorer on the Xbox itself had the option to use the Avatar Editor, that would be a great workaround....but
that, too, needs Silverlight for the Editor to function. I shouldn't have to turn to another peripheral (i.e., SmarGlass) to be able to utilize the functionality of the Xbox Avatar Editor....

This is not exactly an isolated experience for Pinball FX2, either. Many games with Avatar awards are also having issues with their rewards not functioning properly. I will assume that this is just a low-priority issue for you, and that Xbox really has
no interest in reworking their Avatar Editor software to be compatible with all gamer rewards. As small an issue as it is, it shows me that Xbox really has no interest in fixing problems for their customers, which makes my decision on what new generation
game console to purchase that much easier.
